Membership
As a not-for-profit organisation, ALGWA SA relies upon its membership base for support.
Your membership fees enable the Association to offer networking, mentor support, newsletters, publications, events, training opportunities, resources and guest speakers.
Many of our events are free or discounted for ALGWA SA Branch members.
Part of your membership fee contributes to the work of the ALGWA National Board representing the interests of Women in Local Government across Australia and on other national women's organisations. ALGWA SA State President is a delegate on the ALGWA National Board.
Membership of ALGWA SA is open to people and organisations supporting women’s participation in Local Government including Councillors, Local Government Employees , former Mayors and Councillors, individual Councils and intending candidates for Local Government elections.
We encourage men to join us and champion us in encouraging women’s participation in Local Government.
Ordinary Membership is on a financial year basis. Subscriptions for 30 June 2024 - 1 July 2025 are:
Individual
- Individual members: $45
- Concession including Senior's Card or Full-time Student cardholders: $25
- Organisation membership
- For Councils with a population less than 15,000 = $ 45
- For Councils with a population between 15,001 to 40,000 = $ 80
- For Councils with a population above 40,000 = $105
- Capital City of Adelaide = $105
- Other organisations =$105 or
- Organisations staffed & run by volunteers = $45
