Honorary Life Membership
Honorary Life Membership of the Association has been introduced from 2018 and may be awarded at the discretion of the ALGWA SA Committee to persons who have given significant service to the Association.
List of Honorary Life Members
The inaugural Honorary Life Member is Anne-Marie Hubycz, former Councillor and Deputy Mayor at Port Adelaide Enfield Council, who was an ALGWA SA member for 12 years from 2006 until her resignation in 2018 to accompany her family overseas on a Defence posting. Anne-Marie served on ALGWA SA Committee for 12 years from 11 May 2006 to 2018. Anne-Marie’s volunteer activities included ALGWA SA Gender Matters Panel member (2009); representing ALGWA SA on LGA SA Women in Local Government Committee/2010 Planning Committee; ALGWA SA Newsletter Editor from Feb 2014 to July 2016 and successfully advocated for assistance for councillors needing dependent's care on South Australian Councils while attending council meetings.
PS. Anne-Marie has since rejoined the Committee having returned to South Australia and is currently the Treasurer as at 9/11/2024.
Cr Kristina Barnett and former Mayor of the City of Prospect (2000-2006), joined ALGWA SA on 26 October 2005 and has served continuously since then. Kristina was the former inaugural ALGWA SA President from 2006-2009, national ALGWA delegate, member of national ALGWA mentoring group, national ALGWA Conference Coordinating Committee member in 2009 and 2015. Kristina continues to serve as ALGWA SA Secretary since 2010.
Jenny Loftes was an ALGWA SA Committee member for 11 years from 2008-2019, served as ALGWA SA Treasurer for 5 years from 2009-2013 and was national ALGWA Conference Coordinating Committee member in 2015.
